After 33 years at one address, it was the six months of working from home during the pandemic that left Lauri saying, “I’m ready” for a new place to call home. The accomplished marketing VP purchased her first condo in San Diego at the young age of 21 years old, serendipitously from the same developer behind her brand-new Carlyle condo in Carlsbad Village.
Years before updating her address to Carlyle in October of this year, the long-time UTC resident knew she wanted to start home shopping in North County San Diego.
“About four years ago, I was going to look in Del Mar and Solana Beach, but my interest in those areas waned. Most of my really good friends live in Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista now… and my office is in Carlsbad,” said Lauri.
After one look, Lauri knew she’d found “the one” at Carlyle.
“On a Saturday at the end of August, I walked in and pretty much made my decision that day,” said Lauri. “Carlyle ticked every box including boxes I didn’t even know I had…in what I was looking for. ‘This is the one! Hold it for me,’ I told the sales team.”
Among the items on her checklist were two bedrooms that are separated for privacy, each with access to a patio. In her Carlyle Plan 2 home, the private secondary bedroom is large, which is ideal for Lauri who enjoys using it as a home office and guest room.
Also on Lauri’s must-have list were security and something newly constructed or newly updated. Built in 2020, Carlyle homes are brand new and private with back patios on some plans which face the building’s interior courtyard.
Beyond satisfying her new-home requirements, the homes at Carlyle made Lauri aware of the “extras” she could obtain within her budget including floor-to-ceiling windows, top-of-the-line appliances and an oversized kitchen island, which are typical features at the Carlsbad Village community.
The happy homeowner who just celebrated one month in her new home already feels settled.
“Having been in my old place for so long, it didn’t take very long for it to start to feel like home. I think it’s a combination of the unit itself, the quality of construction and the incredibly nice people that work in the building and really go out of their way to be helpful. The staff has been incredibly welcoming and that’s a huge plus.”
For those considering a move to Carlyle Carlsbad Village, Lauri shares, “If you can afford it and you want a really special place to call home, I don’t see how you’d be on the fence about this.” Take it from Lauri and give this beautiful new community a look.
